KKN Di Desa Penari, FACT OR MYTH?

Hi,

This time I want to discuss about the research I have done according to the trend that is being hotly talked about by netizens. Can be seen from the title of the blog, I want to discuss the truth of the Indonesian film KKN Di Desa Penari. KKN means Kerja Kuliah Nyata in Desa Penari is inspired by a true story and written by the user of the Twitter account @SimpleM81378523 who made it threaded on June 24 to July 25, 2019.

On this topic I want to discuss about:

  • Short Chronology of KKN Stories.
  • Place of Occurrence.
  • Lessons to be learned.

Short Chronology of KKN Stories

Let's start from the summary of the story where the abbreviation of this story is related to 6 students who did KKN in a remote village and it is mentioned that the incident happened in 2009 (according to other sources there is also a saying that this incident took place in the 90s) and took the lives of 2 students who participated in the KKN. KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) is one of the activities that is closely related to the practice of students from universities. Where students are nearing the end of the semester, they will run KKN. While conducting KKN, students will learn, serve, teach and mingle with the community. Usually, the selection of KKN location should be in a remote area.

For the information of the readers, everything related to this story, includes the name of the campus, faculty, and the name of the village where the KKN is kept secret by the author in honor of the narrator and the family of the deceased.

Initially, the number of students who were supposed to undergo KKN in Kota B was 14 people, but only 6 eventually came. The six students are named Anton, Ayu, Bima, Wahyu, Widya and Nur (again, not their real name).

The six student who were supposed to go through KKN were accused of breaking several of Desa Penari's rules and prohibitions. Indecent and immoral acts are among these behaviours. Having intercourse in a prohibited location (been called Tapak Tilas in film) and form an agreement with Badarawuhi, one of the demonic jinn who guards Kota B. It all comes to a head when Bima and Ayu's souls are transferred to another realm.

Place of Occurrence

No one knows where the KKN Desa Penari is located right now. However, some internet users were able to piece together hints that led to a town on Java's eastern edge. Kota B, Daerah K, Alas D, and Kampung J are the names of the locations.

According to the author, the huge territory where the mysterious event occurred was named "Kabupaten B." According to a small group of internet users, Kota B can be narrowed down to Banyuwangi among Indonesia's many cities and villages. This is due to the city's reputation as a centre for traditional dancers. This is further confirmed by the ongoing search, which shows that students from Surabaya State University visited the city in 2009 to participate in the KKN programme. After doing some research, it appears that no universities in Indonesia are sending students to work on KKM.

Meanwhile, Alas Gumitir is the haunted forest referenced in the KKN Desa Penari narrative as a haunted region. Locals say the forest is known for its terrifying stories. From the sight of a female dancer to the sound of a 'gamelan arriving from nowhere in the middle of the forest.

However, the authenticity of the exact place is still not identified as nothing is authentic so far as many have drawn their own conclusions.
